Maroochydore by the numbers

Before I start, Maroochydore is the only place I have concrete numbers for, so please don't feel left out Gympie, these numbers will hopefully show a pattern for you as well.

Sunday the team down here sorted 27 cages and left only 3 cages, which came late. They delivered 767 parcels in total, our biggest Sunday since 2021. Today the team took out around 1950 parcels to be delivered, sorted nearly 40 cages and left around 400 parcels for tomorrow.

So, combined, over Sunday and Monday Maroochydore sorted around 67 cages, delivered over 2700 parcels and received a total of 3100 parcels. Last year we delivered 514 on the Sunday and 2097 on the Monday. A total of 2611 parcels for the two days. I don't know if we left any, but the Tuesday we only delivered 1410 and on Wednesday saw us deliver 1476, so if there was leftover, it wasn't much. This means we realistically had a 20% increase year on year, not the 10% Australia Post was predicting.

This means that tomorrow and the next day should be catch-up and rest-up days. Thursday and Friday last year saw us deliver 1749 and 1729 respectively. So that should give you an idea of what is to come. This is the pattern for the next few weeks with a huge hit the Monday before Christmas.

The part I didn't mention above is we were two short today, so I am massively proud of you all for chipping in and smashing last year's numbers, even while we were short-staffed. Thank you all for your amazing effort, and yes the biggest days are here and will be here for a few more weeks, we really are almost there.
