Can you help by becoming a contractor?

As you are all aware the company has gone through a fairly rough patch over the last 12 months. Most of this is down to the rapid expansion of the business we underwent and how many vans we purchased for employee's to drive. Now that we are downsizing the company and selling off vans it is a perfect time to jump into the company as a sub-contractor rather then an employee.

How does this help us?

By you purchasing one of our vans or your own van it free's up the companies cash flow in many ways. Firstly it is one less van that we need to pay for on an ongoing basis, this includes van repayments, fuel, services, tyres and insurance. Secondly we cut down our BAS payments by a lot as we stop paying the PAYG tax for the staff and if you become GST registered we claim that GST against our payment.

Why is this good for you?

The more parcels you deliver and the quicker you do it the more you do get paid, it is a simple as that. You get to claim a whole lot of things when you have your own company. The Sub-contractors we have currently are some of our longest working people for the company, so we must be looking after them pretty well.

While becoming your own boss and working along side Wilkinson carriers is rewarding and really does help our companies cash flow out you are paying off an asset as you work. This means when you are done working you have a van to sell and help set yourself up for whatever is next.
