Baringa changes for next week

We found out this morning about a few important dates that will effect the Baringa shed leading up to the peak period. As you are all aware, the shed is too small for everyone right now. You may also be aware that we have been doing our best to get product to you all as quick as we can, even when it arrives late to the sunshine coast.
Two big changes are coming into effect soon to fix both those problems. We will start with the easy one to explain. On November 13th, the contract that deals with Kawana at the other end of the shed is moving to Caloundra, which will allow for way more room in the shed. We will lose a little bit to the Mooloolah side of the shed but gain a lot more on the other side where the Railway run currently is. This will allow for more room for everyone. This combined with the reworking of the shed this week should see everyone benefiting from this extra space we will now have.
The second part is a bit more complicated to explain but has a much bigger impact on the shed, an impact that I am still trying to work through and understand the best way to benefit most from this change. Currently we have a truck arrive at around 9 am to the shed, it brings us freight from the a truck route referred to as the 220. We currently then head to Nambour to grab the parcels that should be brought to Baringa by 11 am. This freight comes from a route known as the 225.
As of Tuesday the 225 (parcels that we get from Nambour) truck will come straight to Baringa and will arrive at about 8 am. This will be mixed product for the shed and will need to be sorted into contracts and then runs. The 220 will stay unchanged for now and hopefully still arrive before 9 am. This will be our last wave of freight for the day, unless something unforeseen happens and planes or truck's don't make it. The only change that could happen to the 220 truck is the parcels for Baringa on that truck could be redirected to the 225 truck and come direct to us, meaning we get more of the freight even earlier.
Long story short, as of Tuesday we will not need to go to Nambour to get parcels anymore and the second wave of starters at 8:30 in the shed will have all the freight with them to bring out to the others. Also, we will have more room as of the 13th of November in the shed. All really good results for us. There are a few more little wins out of this but lets leave it at this for now.
I have not worked out the best structure for this yet, especially with the employee restructure we are doing currently. Let me sit on it for a few days and talk to some people and from there I will have a game plan for next week before we get there.
Please understand that this will make a huge difference to the operations of the shed.
Finally, the changes with the trucks is not just a peak period change, this is permeant.
